Opening Times 2020
Due to the Covid-19 Lockdown restrictions the timetable for the 2020 Season is currently limited to Adult Swims and Pre-booked Group sessions for up to 2 Households & people in their "Bubbles" or separate Households with up to 6 people maintaining social distancing. We are keeping this under review as we monitor & follow the current Government guidelines.
Anyone who has any of the symptoms of Covid-19 including a high temperature or a new persistent cough should not come to the pool.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO HEAT THE POOL AT THE MOMENT
AS WE DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT FUNDING TO COVER THE COSTS INVOLVED.
Adult Swim Sessions
It is not cost-effective to have a life-guard waiting at the pool for the Adult Swim sessions as numbers are often small. A minimum of 3 people are required for an Adult session to run (this is for Health and safety reasons as a lifeguard is not present). Following the current guidance during the Covid-19 pandemic, the maximum number of swimmers permitted at an Adult Swim session in a pool of our size is 10.
From July 2020 we now have an automated booking system for the Adult swim.
Go to the Opening Times page. Select your desired date & session time and click the Sign Up button
This will ask you to register by entering your email address. You will only have to do this once (unless you intend to access the system on more than one device).
You will then receive a validation email. (Don't forget to check your spam folder!) When you click on the link in the email you will automatically be re-directed to a simple registration form.
Once the form is complete you will be able to add yourself to any adult swim session by clicking on the + button and you will receive a confirmation email each time.
Any session which does not have the required minimum of 3 swimmers booked in by 10pm the previous day will not go ahead. Once that cut-off time has passed you will receive a final email confirming the status of the session.
Swimmers should arrive "beach ready" and must vacate the pool to allow 10 minutes clear time before the next session starts. Please be aware that the toilets and changing rooms will not be open during the Adult Swim Sessions and no Tuck Shop facilities will be available.
Pre-booked Group Sessions
The current social distancing guidance from the government means that we are unable to offer Open Swim Sessions due to the size of the pool and the layout of the site.
From 22nd July 2020 we are making pre-bookable, 45 minute slots available at different times during the day. These slots can be booked by a groups of people from 2 households - up to a maximum of 30 people (including swimmers and spectators), or by a group made up from different households up to a maximum of 6 people.
The slots will be scheduled for booking 2 weeks in advance but can only be opened up if a Lifeguard and a Volunteer are available to run the session.
You will need a lead person for your group who will be responsible for booking the session and for ensuring that all members of the group are aware of the requirements for social distancing as outlined on our Covid-19 Information Page.
We have to account for everyone who is on the pool site so spectators are welcome but must be included in the booking numbers.
The cost of the session is £30 for up to 15 people; £50 for 16-30 people. Sessions must be paid for in advance via BACS payment directly to the pool account (if you cannot pay by BACS please contact us).
If you want to book a session, go to to the Opening Times page. Select your desired date & session time and click the BOOK button. You will then complete the booking via an online form
Swimmers should arrive "beach ready" and must vacate the pool to allow 15 minutes cleaning time before the next session starts. The toilets and changing rooms will be available and a limited menu of drinks and pre-packaged snacks can be purchased from outside the Tuck Shop. Please be aware that we cannot accept card or electronic payments at the pool at this time.
Rules of the Pool
By following these simple rules we can be sure that the pool is safe for everyone to use.
All non-swimmers must be accompanied by a swimmer who is with them in the pool at all times.
Our lifeguards are highly trained to ensure the safety of all the swimmers in the pool - they cannot act as babysitters!.
All swimmers must have vacated the site by 5 minutes after each swimming session has finished.
All swimmers and spectators music have vacated the pool site by 15 minutes after the session has finished to allow time for a safe exit for themselves and safe entry for the next group.
